Well since you guys are talking about fruits. Yesterday Bob, Mom, Chris and Me went for a ride around Davao. On our way we decided to get lots of fruits. One of the fruit that we got was durian. We want mom to try it. This is her first time to try durian. She likes it too. I first tried durian when I was a kid. When my brother used to study here in Davao during the 70’s when ever he goes home during the weekend he will bring home with him durian because my parents like it. When I tried durian at that time I didn’t like the taste and the smell. Since living here in Davao I tried it once and I kind of like it but I don’t like the texture. The smell don’t bother me anymore. By the way I like the durian cake and candy, but I don’t like the durian ice cream and durian coffee its way too strong for me.

Well, yesterday I tried durian again. You know what I like it, but only the 101 variety. I like the texture. It’s not mushy unlike the one I tasted before. I guess I will just have to keep on trying the other kinds of durian maybe later I will like it. Theirs lot of different kinds of durian. My nieces and nephew they like to eat any kind of durian. It doesn’t matter to them as long as its durian they will eat it. ;-)   One of our people here in the house like it now too. She’s like me she likes the texture of the 101. Now I’m trying convincing our four kids to try to eat durian, but they just said to me thank you very much, not trying it. Our youngest son was complaining this morning. He said that were trying to kill him with the smell of the durian. We had some left over and we put it inside the fridge and when he opened the fridge the smell was strong. He just hated it.

Anyway, I’m happy that I gave it a try again. Even though durian is not my favorite fruit at least I can sit down with Bob and my family sometime just eating durian. I might eat more than them. ;-)

Hey you guys that love to eat durian don’t get jealous. Next time I will eat durian first bite is for you. ;-) Cheers!

Hi Lea – Let me know then when you get to GenSan. Hope we could meet up and have coffee. Maybe we could have marang and durian too. ;-)

Oh what country is your exchange student from?
