It’s Friday and that means another episode of the Expat Answerman Videocast!
You know, lately, I have been getting a lot of emails from people asking about travel to Davao City. They are concerned because they have read that we are under Martial Law here, and it scares them. They think that means it is very unsafe. Today, in response to those kinds of inquiries, I share my thoughts, and I also give a Martial Law update. It has been at least a couple of months since I have shared any updates about Martial Law in the area where I live.
In addition to my update about Martial Law, I also am taking a viewer question from Greg, who is from Alaska! My wife, Feyma, is in Alaska right now, she is working there in the Aleutian Islands. So, I am a bit partial to Alaska right now! Feyma will be home in another 2 months or so, and I am really looking forward to that.
Greg is asking about opening a bank account in the Philippines, ow to keep from being “dinged” on bank fees and such. So, I fill him in on how to do it, and how to avoid fees as much as possible. Banks are the same worldwide… they have to make an income, so you can be sure that they are going to charge you fees! But, hopefully, I can help Greg minimize that!
I hope you enjoyed the video, and that I’ll see you again next week.
