We got a comment and a question from Ryn today.
And here’s what Ryn had to say:
hi i have a big problem,i just been granted british citizenship and had the oathtaking ceremony last week and i have no british passport yet, can i use my phillippine passport to travel to the philippines this week as it is urgent.many thanks
Unfortunately, under Philippine law, when you took your oath as a British Citizen, you lost your Philippine Citizenship, so you cannot legally use your Philippine Passport. If you use the Philippine Passport you will be committing an act of Immigration fraud.
You will need to get a British Passport and use that. Alternatively, go to the Philippine Embassy in London and file an application for Philippine Dual Citizenship! Once you do that, you will still be a British Citizen, but will be a Philippine Citizen at the same time, thus a Dual Citizen.
Thank you for dropping by here Ryn.
