Keeping to the holiday spirit, our school has been having what’s known as the “Christmas package drive”, where a class will donate stuff like old clothes, food, toys, or other things. I am really happy because not only can we share, but the class with the most points (the things we give has a particular score) gets a 1 day holiday. Another activity about the Christmas season is a play Teatro Ateneo (club) made called Muzikal, although quite boring and deafening, we still had to live through it, because of it being compulsory. The most anticipated of all, I think, is the Christmas party, where we will have our exchange gift, you have to give a gift to a randomly picked person. Call it a busy season with a few projects thrown in, but we have already passed most of them, we only have about three, the best is English, we have to make a blog with our poems in it, with pictures to represent the poem. The most feared is Filipino where we will have our play, although I’m not an actor in it, I still have a huge responsibility as 1 of the 5 props-men, we barley even started because our script hasn’t been accepted yet, and time being short (presentation this Thursday) we need to make all sorts of props, and a backdrop.
The schedule this month is one of the worst, but we still look forward to one class, I.T. (Information Technology) is really fun, even though it’s only twice a week, our last I.T. class being a double period, we thought we might have a long test, but was in fact a free period, because our teacher was busy with Muzikal. Even our most brilliant classmate was just about pushed to the limit. But Biology seems to be getting more interesting, all about genetics, specifically Mendel’s principles and experiments, yet still confusing with YY (pure dominant trait) and yy (pure recessive trait) clogging my brain. Now I know how Harry Potter felt during his third year in Hogwarts crammed between exams, Quidditch, and Hagrid’s case for Buckbeak (been reading the book for the 3rd time now). I barely even have time to breath with everything spiraling in my brain right now. At least Christmas break is just around the corner. It is a big burden if I think about it, but one learns to live with it. It’s would really be a miracle if we do all our requirements on time. Even with our group we still are disorganized in Filipino, so we need to really pull it together and make a huge effort to finish this one. Our teacher even told us not to practice on weekends, I don’t know why but those practices on weekends could have been the key, but her instructions were clear to all of us, and she is one of the most strict teachers this year, so we dare not defy her.
Well, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you!
