Over the years I have seen many Treasure Hunters blow huge amounts of money on rumors of all kinds of treasure which can be found in Mindanao! It used to be that the Japanese always made their treasure maps in English so that the local people would be able to find the treasure when they returned to reclaim it!
From my experience over the years from people who used to stay at Cambridge Farm Hotel I found out about some of the stuff that these Guys and Gals were searching for! The main treasure was of course Yamashita’s Gold, this vast treasure which was accumulated during the conquest of Asia well before the Americans entered the war but was not taken back to Japan in order to finance the war but was spread around the Philippines in specialized bunkers to await collection at a later date by who ever survived the war and could claim it for themselves!
A few years ago we had all nationalities staying with me while on their quest to discover the wealth. They came from, England, Ireland, Canada, Germany, Australia, America, Japan, Korea, France, Switzerland and of course the Philippines! All of these people passed out vast volumes of cash to Treasure Guides who were happy to take the cash but never produced the goods!
Now, things have got more technical as one of the very big local companies actually has its own satellite which is tasked full time 24 hours a day over the Gen San Area and it can detect hidden treasure deep underground and even tell what different kinds to treasure is mixed into the bunkers!
The treasure in Mindanao takes many forms, there is the standard Gold and Silver in many forms from Bars to Coins to Jewelry! There is Platinum both Hard and Soft, soft must be rare! The famous Nickel Babbets which is basically lead which was stockpiled by the Americans in the early 1930’s so they could make bullets on site when the war started!
Now, not only do they have methods of detection but the great granddaughter of General Yamishita who has full details of the treasure deposits and where it lies as is in Mindanao now! It is said that she got the details only a few years ago from General Yamashita himself so he was not hanged by the Americans has told in history! There is one American in charge of a dig, now they are 165 feet deep and they have come to water but the men are sure that the steel box containing the treasure is near so they now have a compressor on site so they can dive down to retrieve the box! Good luck to them!
It is now well known that anyone who finds treasure pays 5% to 10% to the local Mayor, that’s why they can afford to run for president!
Where ever you find gullible people with large amounts of money to squander you will always find people who are willing to assist them in handing over that money and to date, I know of nobody who has left the Philippines with anything near to what he arrived with! As the old saying goes, how can I make a small fortune in the Philippines, easy, arrive with a large fortune!
