In Late July we had a visit from our Daughter Gerrybelle (Jane) Agatha Dearne, she is the one who now has her name on the Dive Shop, Agatha’s Dive Center, she was accompanied by her German partner Iris and their adopted son Ryan who I had not met before!
They are just here for 3 weeks but are having a fun holiday in the Philippines. The landed in Manila, met some relations up there and went up to Subic Bay to swim with the Dolphins at Ocean Adventures. I do not like the idea of such creatures being in captivity but Zac the Dolphin seemed to be very healthy and happy and enjoyed interaction with humans!
When they arrived here in Gen San I went to pick them up in my Starex Jumbo 12 seater but luckily for me, some others relations came with cars also as my Starex was not big enough even for all the bags!
Ryan the Adopted Child is pretty good really but he is sure a pain to feed! He likes burgers, bread, pancit if it is just noodles with no additives like meat and vegetables, chocolate spread on bread and of course ice cream, cake and candies with his favorite being Jaw Breakers or in English, Gob Stoppers! He has had a rough first few years of life with bad parents and failed adoptions but he now has a good chance in life, I wish him luck with his new family!
Since they have been here, Jane and Iris have been invited out by lots of relations and in true Filipino fashion they have been eating and putting on weight, they have another week to go and then they can go back to the UK to a normal life and maybe reduce a bit and get back to there normal weights!
They had a day at London Beach where they ate and swam and all had a good time, London Beach is now well developed and well worth a visit! They also had a dive with me in Tinoto and even Ryan had a shallow dive and he enjoyed it as there are lots of fish to see, after the in water experience the went to the Lemlunay Resort for more swimming in the Infinity pool and of course to eat!
The ladies have of course been for pampering by going for massages, nails doing, hair fixing and things that ladies like to do! After driving them on their first pampering day I decided that its not my kind of job so I let another relation drive them into town after that!
They went onto Glan to Isla Delmar for some swimming and of course to eat but went with other relations as I was busy with divers on that day!
All the family kids got on well with young Ryan and he had a couple of sleepovers and really enjoyed himself as the other kids are equally as hyper active as he is!
On their last night we had a meal in the new Mesa Restaurant in SM and I will say that the food was good and the beer cold, it was a very good evening for all!
With all of their shopping done and unwanted clothes left behind we took them to the airport and put them on the flight to Manila where they had one day and then onto London and back to normal! They are taking one of our relations back with them for 6 months, she has just retired from the National Food Authority where she worked for 35 years and now wants to see some of the world, good luck to here!
Its always nice to see relations come and visit but now that they are gone I can get back to my normal routine, in my man cave and my beer fridge!
Life is good!
