Today we got a comment and question from Annita Alcantara.
This is what Annita had to say:
My cousin was born in the USA in 1999. His parents are both natural born Filipino Citizens.
They did not pay immigration fees for my cousin from age 0 to 11 years of age.
How much would be the incurred immigration charges, as my cousin is now considered an alien?
Would it be cheaper to pay immigration fees or apply for Recognition as a Filipino Citizen.
What would be the best course of action for the parents of y cousin, as they intend the him to travel to the USA next year.
What are the documentary requirements needed for his travel without necessarily paying for immigration fees?
This is what Bob had to say:
I am sorry Annita, I dont have any idea how much all of the charges would be, though I do know that it will be very high since it is a long time.. If I were in his parents shoes, I would just file a consular report of birth abroad and claim his Philippine citizenship. He is obviously eligible to be a Philippine Citizen since each of his parents is a Philippine Citizen.
I hope this helps!
