Is this an alarm over the dominating McDonald’s?

Hahahaha! Who did that? It’s too fanny…

The face of Donald itself is scary enough. But, the rage against the capitalizm proved that it is more dreadful without it!

vandalized DonaldNew McDonald’s is soon to open across from Damosa Gateway, Lanang, Davao City. It is located only 20 meters away from my college. Unfortunately, our college canteen has been closed since last year. And the McDo is the nearest place for students to have lunch. Let’s enjoy observing how fast they get super-sized!

Students, good luck!

    < ![CDATA[ I KNOW!!!! gosh!!!
cantines are SO important in schools!!!!
good eating habits start at home but are perfected in school!!!
and unfortunately bad habits die hard!
children need to get good eating habits early, especially in our fast growing world of evolution where natural food substitutes are apppearing more and more on our supermarket shelves.
balanced diets, at least 5 fruits an dvegetables each day, and 3 square meals a day help children to stay away from junk food!
im completely positive that the city government should revise the implantation policies and rules converning the proximity of junk food restaurants and shops from schools....]]>

    < ![CDATA[Hi Davao girl!
    I hope so, too...
By the way, McDo out there seems open now...
I can see from the window of my office.
There must be a lot of students eating there...]]>

< ![CDATA[it's a pity you school doesn't have a canteen Ichi. I mean, as far as schools (and colleges, for that matter) are concerned, having a canteen is a must. how come it's been closed in the first place? i'm just wond'rin...

Yeah... i won't be surprised if your students will be running to the tailor shops in the near future to have their uniforms adjusted, or have them redone themselves, hahaha... no offense though.

But Ronald McDonald kinda looked cute with that green plaster on his face though... i've never really liked clowns anyway.]]>

< ![CDATA[Hi Ichi - Ha ha.. this is funny! I'm curious, in Japan or the Philippines, is his name "Donald?" In the States, we call him "Ronlad" more specifically, "Ronald McDonald." Just wondering if there is a regional difference!]]>

    < ![CDATA[Hello, You know me.
Our school canteen became bankrupt during the semester breake last year... Students dont go to school if there is no class.

    Hi Bob.
    Yeah, it's interesting.
I don't know in the Philippines but in Japan they call it Donald.
I think the reason of the difference is that the name Ronlad or Ronald is difficult to pronounce for Japanese people.]]>

    < ![CDATA[Hi Ichi,
The pic of ronald mcdonald looks quite disgusting! But I have a slightly strange bit of trivia for everyone who hates mc donalds and everything regarding capitalism. No country with a Mc Donalds has ever gone to war with another country that has a Mc Donalds.
    Regards

    < ![CDATA[Hi Bob,

actually, when you think about it, he supposedly is to be called "Ronald", right? 'coz it's his first name... some people (those who think about it though, to say the least) call him Ronald, but generally, (and stupidly, duh) everyone refers to him as "Mcdo", short for Mcdonald's. hahahaha...

The moms and children would go like, "Uy! Hala! Si Mcdo o!" haha...

But don't get me wrong, i may hate "Mcdo" (Ronald), but i like Mcdo (the restaurant itself.)]]>

< ![CDATA[oh yeah, i forgot a little bit of info.

Here in the philippines (especially here in Davao) people refer to Ronald as "Mcdo", with emphasis on the last syllable.

    paparap-papa... love ko 'to!

this phrase familiar? it's the Mcdonald's catch phrase here in the Philippines. actually, it's been translated to a lot of languages... english, italian, arabic, chinese, french... a song was even made for their commercial.]]>

Thank you for the trivia. It's a interesting fact...

< ![CDATA[Hi Ichi - Here in Aus we call the restaurant " MACCAS", which I guess is a local thing? Our Aussie hamburgers (not McDonalds) NEVER! contain pickles, but sometimes they may have beetroot (very popular) or even pineapple. Plenty of salad is popular.]]>

    < ![CDATA[Hi Anthony.
So, how do you call the clown of McDo?
    Is it MACCAS also?

    RECAP
    Ronald is called;

    "Donald" in Japan,
    "Ronlad" in the US,
    "McDo" in the Philippines,
    and "Maccas" in Aus......

    It's a good trivia!]]>

< ![CDATA[Ha Ha Ha! LOLZ! ROFLZ! HaX0RZ! R0nALD McDo was taught a valuable lesson here today my friends! He has been well and truly p0WNd! He has destroyed and bankrupted our lovely canteen with his evil non-nutritious capitalist ways! But just wait, my friends...Do you hear that! It's the Anti-GLOBO-TRANZI-POMO-CPPP legions marching to reclaim all that is good and nutritious and non-fattening and carbon-offsetting!

Death to the capitalist pigs who worship at the the feet of his bourgeois highness Sir Ronald of McDo! We shall ultimately HaMbUrGlEr him with our JUST and FREE society that will overcome his Large Mac's and Gallic Fries...yes, YES! my friends. McDo's EVIL plan to dominate the globe with fries and shakes and burgers will never get past us! Dear victims of Quarter Pounder domination, do not yield so gently...for at the end of the day, we shall declare HA HA HA! in your fat FACE!]]>

< ![CDATA[RichardlnSC - I remember reading a blog from one of Bobs friends saying he could see a direct corollation of the introduction of fast foods into the Phils to obesity, especially chilhood obesity. From memory he has been in the Phils for about 30 years. So for all the people that want to eat that crap go ahead, but give me something TASTY anytime!]]>

Correlation is not causality. Any increase in general prosperity could easily explain this. Your premise seems to be McDonald's = Bad Nutrition. Yet this link has never been scientifically established (and no, Morgan Spurlock's documentary does not count as science, so don't even go there). You don't like McDonalds, fine, but it's good CHEAP, fast food. It doesn't pretend to be anything else. Their 'Big 'n Tasty' (and it is TASTY) burgers are pretty good though. You outta try one, you might change your mind.]]>

< ![CDATA[Hi Richaard - Let me tell you that after 4 weeks in my wifes province with no fast foods available, the first place I visited when we got back to a city was maccas, and I will never forget that big mac I devoured. Havent had another one since as I prefer the homestyle ones. Enough said!]]>

    < ![CDATA[hello,
I don't like hamburger and am never going to be a fan of it. I only eat a cook burger patty with rice without cheese in it. Back then I always order a 1 hamburger, couldn't finish it and still the same way today. Nowadays I don't order them but I love the chicken in the ham. In terms of burger eatery back in Pinas. I don't think most of the people will go there all the time compare the way Americans do. To most common people in Pinas, going to fast food like Mc Donald is still expensive. For rich Filipino people, they are the ones who will frequent the chain fast food. This is not our main dishes too that is why everytime you go to any of this fast food you will see a rice in the menu. That's only in the Philippines and Pilipino Jollibee :) rice in a Hamburger Fast Food. The difference also, American tend to make the burgers their meal most of the time. Filipino don't, it is for special occasion and don't eat burgers 3 times a day (I'm not saying that all American eat it three times a day, maybe 2 or once a day). On second hand, if a Filipino becomes so westernized she/he might eat it 1 or 2 or 3 times a day. When it comes to weight, we have to consider also of everyones genes and their metabolism.]]>
