MY SON HAROLD (DEATH IN FAMILY)

As you may recall from an earlier post I have a surrogate son called Harold.

I was telling you all about his life and problems and I told you he has reconciled with his terminally ill father.

I received many comments on here and from friends saying they would like an update occasionally about Harold.

Well I am sorry to say his father passed away minutes ago, after a long battle with cancer.

I am now proud to be his father whenever he needs me.

    Hi John,

Sorry to hear the news. Please extend our deepest sympathies to Harold. I’m sure his father was so proud of Harold.

I’m glad there was a reconciliation before his father’s death. Am also glad that you and Harold are enjoying each other’s role in your lives.

May I share this poem? This is for Harold and his family; and for you, John, as well.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
    ==========================
    Mary Frye (1932)

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!

I also know Harold, myself and John have become very close to him over the last few years and we met his mother and father when we travelled to Pollilo. I am so proud of what Harold has achieved against all the odds and my heart goes out to him now for his loss. Thank you to all those people who passed on their condolences - it is very much appreciated. Harold is a wonderful young man and I am so proud to be part of his life.
