The most comments I ever had on an article this year was all about DOGS.

If you read the article you know I was suffering from lack of sleep so many months later its got worse so I am lucky to be moving in February to what seems a place where dogs are not mistreated, caged.

The biggest problem apart from culture is the training of dogs.

PINOY DOGS

Back in July I also wrote an article about the confusion of English between UK English,American English and Pinoy English.

Why do locals never walk anywhere? See the article below.

THE ART OF WALKING

One of the biggest pleasures living here is being inspired by my local friends who have suffering in life that I have never really fully understood.

Harold is like an adopted son to me and the story below is his.

I just wanted to say that I totally share the sentiment of John about the most commented on blog that he has done. Dogs in the Philippines. Thank goodness we are moving!!
Regardless of culture, abundance of money, lack of money, education, lack of education etc etc etc blah de blah de blah, and at the risk of sounding superior (which I am not) I am so relieved we are moving to an area where we will not be hearing each and every night outside our windows the howling and crying and yelping and suffering of several dogs.
It may be considered that “thats just the way it is here”, but if everything was just accepted as “thats the way it is” then nothing would ever change in life, nothing would ever improve, nothing would ever develop and people would never learn. The filipinos as much as any race in the world are capable of learning and growing and understanding.
But until the time comes that the moment of enlightenment occurs, I am just relieved to be moving on to a peaceful pasture.
Here’s to a good night’s sleep John, without bad dreams of rotten tiny cages and starving, dehydrated dogs.
