Also my first trip to Patag

Afew days ago Bob wrote an article about going to Feymas old family home in Patag near GENSAN.

This was the first time he had been to the family farm and it was like a trip back in time for me, as it appeared to be the 18th century UK WITHOUT THE COCONUTS.

I was very lucky to be invited to take the trip too and the experince was made even better by the warm welcome the local villagers gave to us and the break down of Bobs vehicle in the mountains on a huge gradiant. Life is an adventurre for sure.

I have footage below that gives you a taste of the journey and watch the villagers they are just fantastic.

If you look close you will see me at a Xmas party having a drink!!!

  2. Hi John. Another great one. It did ‘capture’ the trip.

Aside from concrete/cement, there are places in the Philippines that are really ‘frozen in time’. I mean, if one wants to see life in Davao City 50 years ago, this is the picture you see.

    Thanks.

  3. Thanks for the post guys I hope to buy a “working” video camera one day.

If Bob gets his way we will be climbing Mnt APO next!!

  4. John

come on, we can “do” apo together…be brave…sorry tried to watch the video 3 times, no idea why but played 1 sec at a time every 20 sec intervals, so, lost the will to tough it out, looked fun though from the start

went on an overnight in samal at friends of friends and like you discovered they were very self sufficient in water and fuel (coconut charcoal, spring water etc) makes one very humble…..

    cheers John
