Lazy summer days, BUT… .
Many of us have different dreams how to spend lazy summer days. For some, a memorable vacation is to go and spend it with the whole family at the beach for a day or even longer. The bonding and sharing can make any place beautiful and memorable. Many of my ex pat friends want to be alone… - even, and that’s my experience, this period of time for laughter and merriment strengthens relationship with one another…
Others say: “When you are in business you tend to overwork yourself, especially if you are alone and you have to do everything alone or you have to try everything alone. Closing shop or leaving your business with trusted friends and people will make your vacation memorable.
Wow - no distractions! Can you imagine to leave radio, TV, internet (!) and everything and stay somewhere in a forested mountain resort in Palawan where one can commune with God and nature? Where are your hidden paradises? Who are the people, you would like to be with you?

My friend we are lucky to spend many sunny days here, but like anywhere else in the world being lazy is not an option. No good having the sun if you have no money to eat. However one thing I am finding myself guilty of is not taking regular “time off” or holiday.

Hi Cidy, yeah, I heard about it, and unfortunately I wasn’t there yet like you. I am not sure, where I will spend “some” lazy summer days’, because I was asked by the USP University of Southern Philippines to start teaching German language maybe from next week on. A great honour and opportunity - of course, but I think I will find time to relax. Thanks for stopping by…
Hi John, I know, but i was just talking about “some” summer days. they could be also rainy like right now. As you said ‘regular time off” should be a must… maybe you relax right now…

I tend to be a guy that enjoys quiet time alone or just with my wife. My dream getaway this summer would be on a weekend on Tango Island in Tawi Tawi with just Feyma.

Hi Klaus,
We’ve always timed our Philippine vacations in April-May because the kids (my nieces and nephews) are off from school. There are a lot of priceless memories from these summer vacations!
Well, now, some of the kids are already working and the others are in college so it’s a little difficult to get everyone together for a day at the beach… Now, we just plan family reunions way in advance so we can all take time off from work and spend quality family bonding time. These are times I will always cherish…
BTW, if I tell you where my secret hideaway is, it won’t be secret anymore!

Hi Bob, great idea…
Hi Tina, thanks for stopping by. The way you plan your vacations is really great. And sure, it’s okay, you won’t tell us your “secret” hideaway…

Hi Klaus! First of all, happy anniversary! John made a terrific video of what must have been an even more terrific celebration. Now I’ll always associate that Perry Como song with your silver (or is it pink?) anniverary.
Anyway, I must say that summer here in Manila is way too hot and sticky. I could certainly spend a few days on the beach. I’m not one for the commercialized spots such as Boracay and Puerto Galera; I’d prefer a place like Baler, La Union, Palawan, or beachless Baguio. But I haven’t overworked myself yet. Soon I will, if only to deserve a vacation, which I would love to spend not with family, but with someone really, really special.

Hi Bing Pogoy, thanks for stopping by. I still remember you, being one of my listeners before of “Classics at Night”. Aren’t you?
yeah, nice places you mentioned. I also enjoyed places like Mt. Carmel as well as Buda. And, I am sure if you spend some nice time with a very special person, these days will remain more memorable…
Hi Migs, first of all MARAMING MARAMING SALAMAT for your anniversary greetings. Yeah, it was a terrific day. Thanks to John and to all guests, including “surprise visitors”, who made this day very special. - I wouldn’t also enjoy summer in Manila or Boracay. But even in Boracay you can still find parts of loneley sand beaches as we learned from another German friend, who stayed there almost two weeks. Palawan is really awesome - I am just afraid of the there known millions of mosquitos. In La Union we have also friends from Germany - they enjoy living there very much. My friend, don’t overwork too much - and enjoy some lazy summerdays also with your very special one…
