Where do you call home?
The video below shows so many beautiful scenes from the Philippines.
Can you watch the video without longing to go back to the Philippines?

Hi Ken - See you in December!
Hi Pete - I don’t feel that there is anything humorous, or revelling going on. I just felt it was a nice video that showed what I feel home is.
Well, Bob, I usually call home from my office, where the Vonage phone is stationed…
Well, I must say that I have two homes. We live with a heart divided. On this side of the pond are many people we have come to love, a country we love, and aspects of life we enjoy. On the other side of the pond are my parents, sisters, 7children and their spouses and 14 grandchildren. They keep asking us when we will retire, and by that they mean, come back to the States and be near them. We communicate regulary, and that really helps, but our grandkids don’t know us very well, and that seems kind of sad.
So I must say that which ever direction we are going, we are going home!
Hi AmericanLola - I understand your feelings! I never thought about this, though, when you do retire, do you plan to go back to the States?
Yes, we will probably retire in the States if we can at all afford it. Not because we don’t love the Philippines or feel we couldn’t have a nice life here for our old age, but because we owe it to our children. They have sacrificed by willingly supporting our stay in the Philippines. On the other hand, we have not made a commitment to retire are any particular age, so as long as we have a meaningful reason to be here and good health, we will stay. Our oldest grandchild is 11. We are hoping that in a few years several of the grandkids can come visit Grandaddy and Lola here in the Philippines. Wouldn’t that be fun?
Hi AmericanLola - Interesting! I don’t know why, but I had never considered that you would go back to the States! I certainly understand why you would, though.
Hi Bob,
Nice video, beautiful song! To me, home is where my honey is,
so we’ll probably be splitting our time between Davao and NY, when the time comes. When it gets too difficult to travel, I know I want to be in the Philippines, where the living is easy…
Bob, I was trying to put a smile on your face, even if it you were not trying to convey humour it certainly occured to me that you were, I appreciate the senses of humour between different sides of the Atlantic Ocean can be hard to understand at times, and no doubt that has been true since the days our joint forces landed on the beaches of Normandy.
Hi Tina - I understand your feelings, and I am like you - my home is where Feyma is. Luckily, we both agree on where we want to live, so there is no problem for us!
Hi Pete - No harm! I understand. I just didn’t mean it as a humorous thing. I do understand how it is a little humorous in your case, having been here, just went home, and see the video wishing to come back already!
I’ll be home in “Ilocandia” in December!
Hi Paul - Are you counting the days yet?
Bob, thank you for your kind consideration you hit the nail on the head.
Hi Bob,
Pete is right, in one respect, THE WEATHER HERE HAS BEEN TERRIBLE, of late, ” my legs are aching with it”, and yes, I too want to be where the rain is warm, and the people too. Soon, soon !
Nice video.
Hi Bob,
As soon as I finally decide that I didn’t need to move back to Davao in the near future (flip-flopping on this for a very long time), you bring out this video. thanks
to paraphrase a well known mafia movie “Just when I thought I was out, you pull me back in.”
Hi Ian - Ah, the weather is always terrible in the UK, right?

Hi macky - just doing my job!
Hi Bob - Counting day? Have been doing that since my last departure from NAIA!

Big news for Friday, Aug 24 — I officially become a “TWO-DIGIT-MIDGET” in the day countdown! (99 and counting)
Hi Paul - Be sure to keep us posted! I am not sure that a countdown would be necessary every day, but I’ll leave it up to you!
Hi Bob,
You are right about the weather here, but this summer, we have had some serious flooding, and the strange thing is, it has been all over, Yorkshire, parts of Scotland, and DOWN SOUTH too. I wonder if we have left it too late, to ward off this global warming. I know one thing for sure, the government here is making a pretty penny out of it.
