Hi Bob, I plan on marrying a Filipino lady in March and plan n moving to the Philippines next Summer. I am wanting to obtain a Resident Visa.  However, I had a stroke 4 years ago, I am about 80% recovered. I have diabetes and sleep apnea. Can you tell me what the criteria are in regards to medical qualifications are for the visa.  Also, what would be other options there are that would allow me to live n the Philippines? Than You!

Hi Dan.

Of course, to get a resident visa you first need to complete the marriage and obtain your NSO marriage certificate.

Medical requirements are not clearly spelled out, it is on a case by case basis. But, the things you mention, I do not believe owuld stop you from getting a resident visa.

Other options?

Live here on a Tourist Visa

Get an SRRV retirement visa

After marriage, you are eligible for the Balikbayan Privilege
