A couple weeks ago we got quite a bit of snow. We had about a foot, which certainly isn’t a record amount, but it was enough to keep us in the house for a while. We expected it to last a few days at worst, but it ended up lasting about a week or so. To top it off, while the main roads were plowed, our neighborhoods roads weren’t.
The first few days were actually pretty good. I’m a home body, so staying home and playing video games with my friends was fine with me. After a few days though, it was kinda getting old. Because my friends weren’t online till late in the afternoon or later, I had to find ways to entertain myself from the morning to when they got online. Of course, I could play video games by myself, which I did for a while, but it’s just way more fun when you have a couple friends playing with you rather than some Internet strangers. I also decided to watch or rewatch a few shows. The first show, which I had seen before was RWBY, which is still ongoing and I got to the end of the series pretty quick. Next up was a recommendation from a friend, Kill la Kill, which is an Anime that is pretty interesting. I also decided to rewatch Star Wars The Close Wars because it had been about a year or so since I last saw it. Another recommendation from a friend was Psycho Pass, which is another anime I actually started back when I was still in the Philippines and never even finished. I’m the kind of guy that starts a series and leaves it until I get bored or remember about it, haha.
Eventually, the weather forecast said that the temperature would be over 40 degrees, which means the snow would start to melt. Unfortunately, we got freezing rain instead, which meant the snow would stay. We were glad we prepared and still had some food.
My cousins dropped by to help us take down our Christmas trees. Initially it was only supposed to be one cousin and his girlfriend, but my aunt and other cousin couldn’t get home because of the snow and decided to stop by too to wait for my uncle to pick them up. We got our trees down and all boxed up quick thanks to them.
I’ve written about snow before and said I loved it. After the last week or so though, I’m kinda starting to hate it. A few inches isn’t really a problem, but a foot of the stuff is too much, and some of you as well as my dad say in other parts they get snow over 6 feet deep… My grandma says she’s never seen the it get this cold here, usually it only rains here. Apparently mother nature knows I’m new here and wanted to show me what she can do. I’m off to the store to get a snow shovel just in case… Using a regular shovel was a pain lol.
