Using the way-back machine to sum things up.
The new road is done and open to traffic now. My dream of it being dust free was nothing but a dream, I washed the new old Honda on Thursday and Friday morning it was covered with a fine layer of dust, albeit less dust, but dust just the same.
We installed speed bumps and people are going slower which is great as so many children are playing on the road now, and the nightly gossip sessions are in full swing every night.
The Mayan experts have cancelled the end of the world scheduled for December, so Mayang installed enough Christmas lights that NASA called and said they could see it from the Space Station. The tree is up, and my Grandson Jayden at 7 months old will sit and watch it twinkle for hours. But then he’s a bit like me, whereas it doesn’t take much to mesmerize him. I now know that at age 65, I love having a baby in the house. It is much more fun around here now.
While at the Market I bought a few CD’s called Dexter a Showtime program Season 1-3. I was festinated by it and found out they were missing seasons 4-7. Being me I forgot which seasons I’d seen and downloaded Season 5, not realizing that I was missing season 4. Since I was confused I figured out that I’d derive more pleasure if I watched them in the proper order. So I downloaded season 4-7 and watch one episode a day prior to my nap. It’s the little things in life that mean so much.
My Buddy is flying in next week with my new KINDLE E-Reader, to be able to read without looking through a part of magnifying glasses taped to my head will be a thing to be thankful for. I’ve downloaded 600 books and am ready to get started.
Awhile back I posted here on LiP and said I was looking at new cars. All year I’ve been hording pesos to make that dream come true. But alas Mrs. Thompson came to me with her plan to renovate our master Bedroom/Bathroom after the first of the year. Is anybody reading this, foolish enough to wager on the new car over her project? I know I’m not, as she pointed out the New Old Honda still looks good (except the dust) and is running well and trouble free.
My new dongle (Globe Tattoo) has functioned flawlessly since I purchased the new one. So I’m online everyday without fail, although I know there are some who wish I wasn’t. I still post my daily jokes and comments, now if I could just convince others that the election is over, the Nation has spoken, and all the tirades they post will not alter that fact a whit. Move on please!
The reason I’m going back in time and updating is because this week in my world nothing has happened, I mean nothing at all, it’s been like a never ending dry spell or a very long nap. I’ve not suffered from writers block, well because I’d have to be a writer for that to happen.
Oh wait, I received a text from that store that was out of Thomas English Muffins telling me they were “IN STOCK”, I flew down there and purchased 20 packages and then got home and looked at my freezer and thought: “Where am I going to put all of them?” I could throw away stuff I’d stocked up on, or buy another freezer. But with some rearranging and moving things around I fit them in. My wife pointed to my beer ref. I smiled and explained that there are some things that are not to be joked about!

The only reason I am on Facebook is to read your posts Paul. It is dusty in the Philippines. Might as well enjoy the dust. After all it is more fun in the Philippines. As for Dexter, that is one bad man… just as his father was. Just wait until his sister finds out…..
Paul Thompson
Gary;
I’m on Face Book to bother people (lol) I’ve finished season three of Dexter and I like the guy, but I’m twisted a bit. As for the dust, you’ve got that right, it’s everywhere.
Joseph (Hey Joe) Stuckey
As for wagering on which project gets the go ahead, I already know from a basic rule of marriage that you can wait another year at least. I don’t get a lot of dust where I live but then the road is paved all the way to the city from my house and the rain keep things washed down and settled here. I enjoy reading your Facebook posts everyday and especially like your bother Dan, He is my kind of man and I think perhaps he reads my mind. The last week of December may be the end of the world for Pigs though as my wife’s brother’s birthday is December 25, His wife’s birthday is December 26, my birthday December 28, and my wife’s birthday December 29, and then there is New Years Day.if pigs don’t go extinct, they certainly will make the endangered list.
:donna west
hey Joe, looks like you will have one day off from pig eating…..hopefully December 27th will be ALL PIGS MAKE LOVE day. cant have extinction of swine in the Philippines….after all, theres got to be some left for me when I get there.
Paul Thompson
Donna;
I can’t speak to Joe’s neck of the woods, but my son-in-law has a farm in Subic Valley with quite a few pigs. With an oink oink here and an oink oink there…
Paul Thompson
Joe;
I can’t figure where the dust comes from, now that my road is 100% paved. Late at night there must be a dust truck that plies my Purok and spreads it like pixie dust. I have a car cover but sheer laziness prevents its use. If I were you (And I know you thank the stars that I’m not) I would hold one birthday party albeit a big one and celebrate all those birthdays at one time. The Pigs will thank you for it. My first party of the season is the Pacman fight on Pay-per-View next month. The entire neighborhood will be there as I have the satellite dish.

I just got myself so confused, but think I have figured it out now. I thought the guy with Mr. Peabody was Poindexter, but Poindexter was the sidekick of Felix the Cat. So, because I thought it was Poindexter, I figured you were watching those old Dexter cartoons from the cartoon network, which I thought was kind of fun (but a little strange). Then I realized there is the serial murderer show Dexter, of which you were likely alluding to. I like them all.
Paul Thompson
Jamie;
Mr. Peabody and Sherman are from Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoon, which my shipmates and I would gather around to watch on the ships. They were never for kids.
The only Poindexter I ever knew rode on the little bus to my school; the rest of us came by the subway (MTA in Boston with a guy named Charlie).
I’ve never watched the Dexter cartoons, but if it’s strange I’ll give it a try.
The Showtime Dexter I was hooked by the second episode. But it’s not shown on TV here in the PI. Because people remove their clothes for some reason… I’ve downloaded seasons 4 thru 6, and starting on season 7.
If I confused you I’ll say I’m sorry, but remember I’m confused a lot of the time anyway!
I hope cleared it up, a little?

Hi Paul,
Enjoyed reading your wrap up. Does keeping the weight of the dust off of your new old Honda really increase gas mileage ?
Paul Thompson
Bob;
Gas mileage was something I never really worried about, I had a new 1978 Lincoln Town Car with a 465 CI Engine, A girl I was dating in California asked how I could drive a car that wasted so much gas? I explained that the car was designed to burn every drop while her ass sits on a white leather seat in total comfort. No dust on that car either.
Joseph (Hey Joe) Stuckey
Not really Bob but it does increase traction slightly when the car is on its roof.
Paul Thompson
Joe;
When I was a recruiter in Coco Beach Florida I did flip over my 1958 Austin Healy, but the car had no roof and went pretty far on its back. New paint and a windshield and it was back on the road 2 weeks later. Still no dust!
PapaDuck
Paul,
I think alot of your maybe concrete dust because the concrete is new. Your right about dust being on everything. I had to wipe off the dust on the 12 yr/15 yr Tanduay Rum i bought to take back to the states that philippine customs almost took lol. Hope you and your family had a nice Thanksgiving. Of course i had to work. It will be my last holiday season working in the jail. Take care.
Paul Thompson
PapaDuck;
I think your right about the dust coming from the new road, but I’m glad you got those two rums home safely. Not much to do on Thanksgiving here, lunch at Texas Joe’s and home for the day. Hope to see you an Anne soon!

Hi Paul – And now it’s few days left before December.. new things to get busy with looking for gifts and buying them. It’s Christmas shopping. Have your done your list? The malls here in Manila are just full packed and traffic sucks.. nothing new about but.. this time of the holiday season…is worse..
Paul Thompson
Sugar;
Shopping? I don’t do that. My daughter will shop for my wife’s presents, and my wife will shop for my daughter’s presents and my grandson Jaden, and Granddaughter Colleen. I’ll be sitting with a cold beer in my hand, proud of the fine job they are doing. They like it because they all shop together and have a say in what they get!
Allan Kelly
Your wife suggested you remove beer from the fridge to make room for english muffins! Isn’t that grounds for divorce in the R.P?
Paul Thompson
Allan;
She knows that before I removed the beer I’d throw a party and drink it all, then restock the ref. and try to figure out what to do with the rest of the English Muffins. But I did get 8 packs in the freezer section. (NEVER FREEZZE BEER!)
