The cost of Gasoline here in the Philippines is still very expensive! I saw a news report that the average cost for a gallon of gas in the USA is now down to $2.09 per gallon.
Let’s see what the equivalent cost is here in the Philippines.
Here are the formula’s we will use:
1 Gallon = 3.785 Liters
$1 = P49
So, one gallon of gasoline costs $2.09 in the United States.
Gas here in the Philippines is averaging P38 per liter.
So, gas in the Philippines costs $2.94 per gallon! Wow, it is way more expensive than in the USA. As a matter of fact, the price here is about 30% higher than customers pay in the United States.

Bob
Hi Ken – Yeah, it doesn't surprise me about the prices in Alaska. It seems funny, since a lot of oil comes from there anyway, right?

I was hoping the price of gasoline in the Philippines was cheaper than in the U.S.A. the funny thing is a Gallon of fuel in the United Kingdom is about $6 per gallon, wowowee how about that ? it costs me $85.00 to fill up my car, and I do that twice a week, sometimes on busier weeks, three times for the week, I guess coming to the Philippines will be cheaper for me, event at just under $3.00 per gallon, thats half of what I spend now, and in the U.S.A. at Christmas, because we are going to Las Vegas, even better, but thanks for Information Bob, it certainly good to find out about those costs.
Bob
Hi Peter – Wow, I am glad that I don't have to pay $6/gallon! Of course, in Europe (although I don't think Britain) everything is so socialized and such that the tax burden is very high. I would bet that probably 75% of the price of gas there is taxes that go to the government! European countries on the mainland of Europe are probably even higher than $6, I bet!
There is one solution – do like I did – pack up everything and head for the Philippines!
Nestor
Hi Bob,
In Chicago, the price of gasoline is now US$3.25/ L. Do you think it would be better to use a bike around Davao City?
Kind regards
Nestor
Bob
Hi Nestor – I wonder how high gasoline will go in our lifetimes? I remember the days when gas was about 30 cents per gallon, and I'm only 45 years old! My only problem about using a bike here is that there are really no bike lanes, and the drivers are a little crazy! I'd probably get killed on the first day! 😉

Hi Bob!
I live in the uk and visit Davao because my wife to be lives there, but in the uk where i live petrol has reached £5 per gallon almost, the greedy uk government loves to tax everything we have, so i would love the philipine and USA petrol prices to be the same in the uk!
Bob
Hi Jeffrey – Yeah, it seems that in Europe they really tax gasoline (or should I say petrol?) a lot! Even years ago, gas was already more expensive than it is in the US and the Philippines today. I feel for you!
