Yeah, it’s not breaking news – you won’t see the headline on CNN, but I am going to go have a haircut today. Having a haircut here is a bit different than it was in the States, and for the better too!
The barbers here take the time to do the job right, and the way that you want it. And, the price is so affordable! There is one new barbershop very close to our house, and they charge P25 for a haircut (that’s roughly 50 cents US). I prefer, though, another place, which is Big Tom’s Barbershop in NCCC Mall. They are a little more expensive, P85 (about $1.70) for a haircut, but you get a few little extras with that. You get a shampoo included with the cut, and you also get a nice back and neck massage at the end of the haircut. Well worth the extra, in my opinion.
I like visiting Big Tom’s every week!

every time i fly home, i'd always hold off on the haircut. found the P100 ($2) deal for the cut, shampoo and massage (and i just need a #2 clipper cropped cut) at SM.
i always thought that was a steal!….until i read this article and the P85 for same thing. wow.
ok gotta go, heading to supercuts for that same haircut for $15 (minus the extra perks).

Bob its interesting to hear how you are getting a haircut and the services you receive for the money, when I go for a hiarcut here in UK, its about USD 20.00 and for that, you do not get much, certainly no head massage, when I ggo for the haircut in Bacolod City, Gina says the manager tells the girls to attend me, they give me also the head and back massage as its also a social experience, thats what I love also about the Philippines the service, enjoy your haircut Bob.
Hi Macky – how was that Supercuts job? Ha ha… After my haircut, I enjoyed the back massage so much that I went and had a full body massage at my favorite massage place. It's a tough life, but somebody has to do it!
