For today’s Podcast, I decided to talk about the most recent column from AmericanLola, “The Foreigner = Money Problem.” For this Podcast, I had a conversation with AmericanLola, and also with Dave Starr. The conversations brought some really interesting looks at the problem that AmericanLola told us about in her column.
Unfortunately, when I spoke to AmericanLola on Skype, we had a very bad connection. AmericanLola did not have a headset and was using her built in mic and speakers on her PC, so this led to some echoes of my voice. I hope that you don’t find it too distracting, but please remember, it is only for about 5 minutes and after speaking with AmericanLola, the echo is no longer there.

Bob,
A little off subject here, but what is the song that you play at the beginning of your podcast? I would like to look it up and hear the whole thing.
I love the Podcast idea!
I look forward to meeting you some day.

Hi Mark Cowley – The Artist singing the song is Jimmy Buffett, and the name of the song is "Far Side of the World." There is a link to buy the MP3 download of the song just to the right side of the article above.
I'm glad that you like the song! It is one of my favorites!
Let me know when you are in Davao, I'll be happy to get together! 😆

Hey Bob,
Been a long time since I visited your site…just busy with teaching. Mady and I just listened to our first of your Podcasts. Great topic. We will read AmericanLola's article. Mady says you have a radio commentator's voice. She said listening to you, American Lola, and Dave was like listening to NPR. I agree…lots of insightful commentary. I am lucky that I did exactly what Dave suggested. I met all the family when I visited and found them all the chips off the same block. Mady's is a very self reliant family…mostly all teachers. Nice job you're doing with these Pod casts.
