It’s almost Christmas time again. As usual we, I mean all of you that helped us for the past 2 years now know that we are giving away Christmas gifts to the poor people here in Davao area. Last year Bob and I decided that we will give on the 24th of December so that the less fortunate people can feel the Christmas spirit. At least they will have some Christmas gifts to enjoy. They can also have Noche Buena courtesy of you guys’ donations.
This year we are thinking of putting the stuff in a nicer container and we will put a bow in it. Like for the kids we put it in a small bucket and wrap it with ribbon and with bow on top. To make it Christmassy. We filled the bucket with cookies, juice, candies, school supplies stuff, and a toy and some other goodies inside. I’m sure the kids will be delighted to get it. I am hoping that we can give quite a few buckets this year.
For the Noche Buena for the family we are thinking of putting it on a nice container, with in it rice, sugar, coffee, sardines, vinegar, soy sauce, bihon (noodle thing), salt, and many more other grocery items and of course the meat. We want them to have meat to complete the good Noche Buena. I think the families that will receive our giveaways will be so delighted having food for their Noche Buena even with just pancit and bread and rice. Some other families will get the spaghetti grocery items, and some will get the fruit cocktail items. This year we made it so differently than last year. We spent more this year in every family too.
We already have some of the Christmas gifts here for the kids and for the families. When you guys donated the money we then bought the stuff and packed it. Still continue to buy since a lot of you still are donating the money. Our kids and my nieces and nephew helped me packed the stuff. Our kids really know and are happy to do it. They’re really excited to give the stuff away for the kids and for the families. They know already the feelings of giving away good stuff to the unfortunate people here. They know that we have a lot of less fortunate people here in the Philippines. They are happy to give from what you guys help.
My kids know that you guys helped us a lot to make this happen. They are happy and thankful that a lot of people really pitched in for this LIP drive so that poor people here will have meals for Christmas Eve at least. It’s amazing what your help can do to many poor people here, put food to their mouth and a smile to the kids. You guys should be proud of yourself of making something possible happen to the poor people here.
To all of you here on LIP Thank You so much for helping. Happy Holidays to you all!
Mabuhay!

i think you guys are awsome to help the needy,im really hoping you do the video thing again this year when you deliver on the 24th,i know i have really enjoyed watching the videos in the past.i think i asked bob about it last year.i know lip site should do more videos as most of us readers love it.i think the videos show alot about the philippines that articles could never cover.
mabe its just my opinion that more videos would make the lip more attractive to more people.does anybody agree with me?
thanks for the great article feyma,,,,godbless you and your family

Hi Feyma –
We had some “extra” this year for our little barangay Noche Buena program so thought it better to send it your way than let it sit in a bank account and “depreciate” against the peso. ๐
Naragsak a Paskua! (Maligayang Pasko!) [Merry Christmas!]

Forgot WordPress & HTML syntax etiquette when composing that last line. It should read:
Naragsak a Paskua! {Malipayong Pasko!} (Maligayan Pasko!) [Merry Christmas!] ๐

Hi Feyma,
I have tried to contact you through the CONTACT US form, but I don’t think my post was successful. I hope you will be checking this essay again even though you wrote it a week ago. I wired you a donation through WESTERN UNION on December 16th. I sent the information to you through the CONTACT US and so far the money has not been claimed, leading me to think my e-mail just didn’t go through.
I know you are beyond busy, but if you read this please e-mail me and I will forward the MTCN number again.
Many Thanks,
Karen
