What? A 99 Year Visa! Bob, is that a new thing?
Well, no it is not new, in fact, no such visa exists! But, I recently got a question from a fellow named Al, asking about getting a 99 year visa to live in the Philippines. While there is no such thing as a 99 Year Visa, you can even do better than that, because there are visas that are good for life! Well, probably most of us won’t live for another 99 years longer, but as long as we get a visa that is good for life, that’s about all we can ask for or even need, don’t you think? I feel pretty confident that my 13G visa, which is good for my lifetime is all that I will need!
So, it’s time that we discuss visas, and what visas Al can get that will allow him to stay here for a long time and enjoy life in the Philippines!
Al also had other questions, including:
How much does it cost to move to the Philippines?
and
How can I bring my car or motorcycle to the Philippines and not pay any customs taxes?
Well, I have talked about each of those things over the years many times, but I address them again in today’s podcast. Listen in to get the scoop!

With what could be saved on import tax bringing in a car, you could most likely save money buying something brand new. I also agree about availability of parts and service.

Hi Bob – I really consider it a no-brainer! I can not see any circumstances where it would be a wise decision to bring a car into the Philippines! 🙂
Thanks for commenting!

Based on your comment, Lorena, I am guessing that you didn’t listen to the Podcast before commenting. LOL

Thanks, Bob, for a very informative podcast. I’ve been coming here on a balikbayan visa for a few years now (leaving yearly to visit family in the States) but I really should stop procrastinating and get that 13a visa. I never really knew exactly what it involved. Thanks for the practical info. Regards to the family.

Thank you, Bud, and good luck with that visa! Nothing wrong with a Balikbayan if it works for you! 🙂
